Well-Drilling Program

$3,500 - $5,000/well

(depending on how many wells are drilled, as the cost decreases with the amount of wells we contract for drilling, as well as their location)

The mud pond water most rural Zambians drink is far from being potable. Due to the rugged and rock-infested terrain of Simwatachela Chiefdom, as well as the neighboring chiefdoms SSAAP aims to serve such as Sipatunyana, Mukuni, and Cooma Chiefdoms, water wells cannot be hand-dug but must be machine-drill dug via drill rig, installing casement pipes, pump, pump stems, and hand-pumping mechanisms to extract water 60-75 meters below the ground. Each machine-drilled well ranges in price from $3,500-$5,000 (USD); SSAAP’s ongoing loyal partner, Denver Rotary’s World Community Service Club (Denver WCSC), shares in a portion of the well cost as often as Denver Rotary's WCSC can contribute, which is typically every three or four years.
