Zambia Craftsmen and Women

SSAAP is a basic human needs program: clean water access to food, education and basic health care are our initiatives alongside survival of a basic cultural need: Art. Without art, culture, and traditions, the fabric of a heritage slowly disappears. SSAAP is honored to work together with master craftsmen and women of the Mosi-oa-Tunya area of Victoria Falls, Zambia (Mukuni Chiefdom) to employ artisans from various socio-economic and educational backgrounds to continue the indigenous traditions of the area through bold, brilliant and bright art works made of wood, cloth, stone and sand. SSAAP’s Director of Arts Programs, Clifftone Sitali, (pictured above) is also secretary to Chief Mukuni of the Royal Palace in Livingstone, Zambia and has been with SSAAP since our origin in 2008.

Local, hand-made, and heart-woven items are available through SSAAP’s fundraisers in either Colorado or Ohio, USA. Please contact us for more information.
